Persona 3 portable vita11/10/2023 The story and characters of Persona 4 Golden are incredible and easy to care about. If you’ve never played Persona 4, you can’t go wrong with this version, as it’s still one of the greatest JRPGs ever made. Right off the bat, Persona 4 Golden fares best, though I suppose it had a bit of a trial run already when it came to PC after spending years on the PlayStation Vita (may it rest in peace.) It runs smoothly, the visuals are about as slick as they could look given their PS2 origins, and the sound quality is excellent. But I just can’t help but feel that we could have gotten a bit more. For the most part, these remasters are completely sufficient ways to play these two JRPG classics. Both are some of the greatest examples of how a spin-off can become its own incredible thing, as these were the peak of the entire Persona franchise. So you can often find bundles online second hand with a ton of games for under $100.When I heard that both Persona 3 and Persona 4, I was ecstatic. PS3 hardware and games are dirt cheap now as they aren't considered retro yet. My actual recommendation would be to buy a PS3 SS second hand for like $50-$60 (depending on where you are) and play FES and if you're interested play the PS2 SMT games like Digitial devil saga, Nocturne, P4 arena etc. But I'd recommend it as a supplement to P3FES I guess.īut yeah, wait for a sale, it gets added to weekly sales along with the other Persona games fairly regularly. The female character story is worth a go imo. You can just always set the tactics for each character for each fight in FES and they'll do what you want most of the time. Controlling the other characters like in P4 is good, but not a vast improvement to make it the superior version imo. The experience is very much like a graphic novel in many ways with the simplified scenes and no actual world to traverse. In all honestly I didn't really like it that much. I haven't competed P3P, so my experience is only about 20 hours or so with it. I paid $5.99 for it after passing it up on sale 4 times in one year. It regularly goes on sale every couple of months. If it's your only way to play it with your current hardware owned then yeah it's worth a buy.
